Dr. Axelrod graduated from Bastyr University and has been practicing naturopathic medicine for over 30 years. She is also a licensed acupuncturist. In addition to being a professor at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, she has worked in an integrative rheumatology practice for the past 18 years.
Dr. Axelrod treats a wide variety of conditions including arthritis, digestive issues, pain, fatigue, weight loss and much more. Some of the therapies she incorporates includes nutrition, food allergy testing, botanicals, homeopathy, Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture and craniosacral therapy.
Dr. Axelrod is a published author both nationally and internationally on topics including osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and treating autoimmunity with natural medicine. She has also been named Top Doctor in Phoenix magazine.
Travel and medicine are two of her favorite activities, which has included providing care for those in need across borders, such as Haiti, Cambodia and Mexico. Outside of her practice, she enjoys ceramics, yoga, hiking and cycling.
