It is our philosophy that an optimal treatment plan for cancer should provide much more than a single treatment modality. To be successful an alternative, cancer treatments plan needs to be multi-modal and fight cancer by attacking the tumor directly, crippling a cancer cell's metabolism and energy production, cutting off blood supply to the tumor, stimulating the immune system, and inhibiting treatment resistance. Importantly, restoring health and healing vitality to the person fighting cancer is of utmost importance and must be a priority as well.
We use a variety of medications, highest-quality supplements, herbal medicines, IV treatments, physical medicine, and dietary plans when creating protocols for our patients. As stated previously, our physicians have the experience to safely incorporate our recommendations into a patient's current cancer treatment protocol. By doing so patients often experience better results, increased overall health, and less adverse medication reactions. We believe that as your doctor it is our duty to work with the other health care providers on your medical team. The best results are often achieved when using naturopathic, alternative and conventional cancer treatment approaches in an integrative fashion, rather than relying on solely one or the other.
Our experience also provides us with the ability to offer guidance to patients about how to prevent cancer recurrence. This extends beyond providing our patients with specific lifestyle and nutritional changes, but also to the use of targeted therapies used to make the body an inhospitable place for cancer to survive. Today's technology allows for the identification of risk factors associated with increased cancer risk. It is important to identify and eliminate these cancer risk factors not only for the primary prevention of cancer, but also for the prevention of cancer recurrence.
Here at Chamber’s Clinic, we offer a segmental analysis of your body that displays your percent body fat, your body fat mass, your dry lean body mass (including bones and skeletal muscle) as well as just your skeletal muscle mass, and your extracellular and intracellular water weight. The scan also can tell you your visceral fat score.
Visceral fat is the fat that surrounds your internal organs in your abdominal region. This is very important, because it can show if you are at risk for something called metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a term used to describe someone who has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, (pre)diabetic, and generally have higher waist circumference (more than 35 inches in women and more than 40 inches in men). Now, having a smaller waist circumference doesn’t always let you know if you’re at a decreased risk. There is phenomenon called TOFI, which stands for “thin outside, fat inside,” which highlights a person who isn’t necessarily overweight or big, but their body is still storing a lot of visceral fat. The InBody is a fairly accurate scan, which has a 95% accuracy score compared to a DEXA body composition scan, which is the gold standard for body composition analysis.
At Chamber’s Clinic, we usually include this scan with all new patient visits, and with visits monitoring weight loss (especially to determine if you’re losing fat while retaining muscle mass). But the InBody can be used for more than just tracking weight and muscle mass compared to body fat. It can be used to see if you’re overtraining one limb (arm or leg) over the other side, it can be used to see if there is muscle impairment in patients with COPD or patients who are on statins that are at risk for rhabdomyolysis, and it can be used for those with end-stage kidney disease or those who may be developing congestive heart failure to determine if they are gaining water weight from kidney or heart impairment.
Given the versatility and helpful information that this scan gives, make sure you get them done often to keep track of your health. Talk to your Chambers Clinic provider today about how you can use InBody to better assess your health and manage your goals.

Testimonials
“After being diagnosed with prostate cancer, I decided to seek independent advice and possible treatment in Arizona. He helped me digest the mountains of information and advice that I’d received from well-meaning naturopaths, urologists, family physicians and friends, as well as the multitude of reading that I had done on the subject. I recommend that you contact him if you find yourself in this dilemma. To this day, we continue to rely on his advice.
*** P.S. I am now 12 months free of cancer!”
“I first met Dr. Psenka after I finished my 3rd round of chemo for metastatic breast cancer. Our initial interview lasted over and hour and Dr. Psenka acted as though he would stay there all day if that is what it took to get all my questions answered. He has an incredible grasp of the mechanics of my disease and was very informative on what immune support, nutrition. and treatment he would recommend. I wish I would have started with his regime at the onset of my breast cancer, as I feel the outcome would have been different. I am stable now and my last PET showed no activity in my bone lesions. The nutritional support has kept me as healthy as one could be having the chemo/radiation that I’ve had. I work full time and lead and active life. I see my oncologist regularly, as well as Dr. Psenka. I feel this gives me the best advantage I am going to have to survive. I would encourage anyone with an early diagnosis of cancer to consider alternative therapies along with their chemo. Dr. Psenka and his staff are a great team and a remarkable resource to help anyone through this difficult diagnosis.”
I appreciated that Dr. Psenka was unhurried and happy to spend as much time as was needed to discuss our concerns, answer as many questions as came up, and explain his philosophy and approach to treating YOU. He was approachable and listened… rather than just talked/lectured. I get the feeling that he’s always thinking head of the “what if’s” and “how to’s”. I know one thing for sure… I would want him on my team!” -from a friend of a patient who participated in the initial consultation”
